Abstract	Parts of the ONSEN system firmware ("merger carrier" firmware), integrated in the present PXD readout, have been upgraded to a new FPGA platform, namely Kintex UltraScale 060. The firmware can be used on a new generation of xTCA carrier boards. The modifications include new link protocols (AXI stream) and a MicroBlaze softcore CPU replacing the PowerPC hardcore CPU.
